Concert Preview: Concord Chamber Orchestra

The Concord Chamber Orchestra will perform Gods and Mortals on Saturday March 24 beginning at 7 PM at the Wauwatosa Presbyterian Church on 80th Street just north of North Avenue (2366 N 80th St.).

The CCO will pay tribute to Helen of Troy, lovers Tristan and Isolde, and Queen Elizabeth I. They will also feature cellist Viktor Brusubardis, the winner of their annual concerto competition (wherein young mortals aspire to musical greatness).

The program:

• La belle Hélène Overture - Jacques Offenbach
• “Prelude and Liebestod” from Tristan und Isolde, WWV 90 - Richard Wagner
• “Courtly Dances” from Gloriana - Benjamin Britten
• Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85 - Edward Elgar
