Retirement celebration

There are a lot of folks who are unaware of the contributions of Don Krause.  He has been teaching the French horn for many years in the Fox Valley, and he started the Fox Valley Horn Choir.  He also founded Horns A Plenty Christmas, which now is a nationwide in its scope, providing fun and scholarship money for horn players.

Don will be retiring from the Fox Valley Horn Choir this month.  He will still be doing the Horns A Plenty Christmas, and I will cover those events later this year.  But his last Fox Valley Horn Choir concert will be on Sunday April 19.  Because it is a big event, the concert will be held in the chapel of Lawrence University in Appleton, 510 E. College Avenue.  Horn players from all over Wisconsin will be there, and Don will be playing some of his all time favorite pieces for horn choir, including music from the motion picture Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.  The concert will begin at 2 PM.

And just a couple of days later, at 7 Pm on April 21st in the UW-Oshkosh Music Hall, the Oshkosh Horn Choir will perform.  You don't want to miss either of these concerts.
