The Milwaukee Festival Brass will be performing A Time for
Peace on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. The concert will be held at St. John’s
Lutheran Church; 20275 Davidson Road; Brookfield, WI.
Featured on the concert is Aaron Copland's famous Fanfare for the Common Man. Also featured is one of Gustav Holst's movements from The Planets: Venus, the Bringer of Peace.
The MFB will present a modern work by composer Karl Jenkins, l'Homme Arme (The Armed Man), a Mass for Peace. The Benedictus movement will feature Al Floeter on the Euphonium.
Also on the program is a Dixieland number, a cornet feature, and the Finale from the Saint Saens Organ Symphony. Performing the transcription by Philip Wilby, will be organist, Carol
Haakenson Peterson. I am guessing that there will be little lip left for every performer!
And if you bring two or more non-perishable food items, you will receive a discounted admission to the concert!
Tickets are available at the door. For more information, see the Milwaukee Festival Brass web site.
