Summer Season Preview: Racine Concert Band

The Racine Concert Band begins its summer season with their 1,428th free concert on Sunday July 1 at 7:30 PM at the Band shell in the Racine Zoo Park on Main Street.  While the programs for each concert are still being set, Maestro Mark Eichner will be sure to have a lot of fun music, including marches, show tunes, light classics, and some big band jazz.

The Racine Band almost always features different individuals and groups from within the band, and this year will be no exception.  The Band also features local and regional soloists to perform everything from jazz to opera.  And every concert ends with a rousing march!

In July, the concerts will begin at 7:30, while the August concerts begin at 7 PM.  You can hear the Racine Concert Band on July 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29, as well as August 5, 12, and 19.  All of these concerts will be at the Zoo Park at the Band shell.

The Band will also perform in the FourthFest parade at 9 AM, and will perform before the fireworks at North Beach that evening beginning at 7:30 PM.

Be sure to bring a blanket or lawn chair.  And don't forget your thinking cap, in order to participate in the Racine Concert Band Quiz!
